Aeon gets Malaysian consumers' vote as top brand, again

KUALA LUMPUR: Aeon Co (M) Bhd has added another feather to its cap after being chosen by Malaysian consumers, bringing home a Gold Award in Retail Category at the Putra Brand Awards 2021.

The company said this was the 10th year that it had been conferred with the recognition in the same category since its inception in 2010.

The presentation ceremony took place on January 21 at the Majestic Hotel here.

"We are grateful with this recognition that came from the votes of the people," Aeon deputy managing director Tsutomu Motomura said in a statement.

"In Aeon, customers are always at the heart of everything that we do. We are of utmost gratitude for the trust in Aeon and we are humbled for the opportunity to continue providing our best services for customers' convenience and pleasant experience each time they are with us.

"We strive to continuously improve our service standards - offline and online - in meeting customers' changing preference."

The Putra Brand Award, also known as the People's Choice Award, is highly regarded as it is chosen by the consumers.

This year is the 12th edition of the awards ceremony which received over 11,000 responses from consumers across Malaysia who participated in a consumer preferences survey to determine their favourite brands.

A total of 167 awards were presented for 24 different product and services categories comprising 24 Platinum, 33 Gold, 50 Silver and 55 Bronze awards as well as five special awards.

The Putra Brand Award is an initiative by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia (4As) in association with Malaysia's Most Valuable Brands.

The campaign was supported by the Malaysian Advertisers Association, the Malaysian Digital Association, the Media Specialists Association and endorsed by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation.
