PETALING JAYA: Superbrands Malaysia 2024 paid tribute to 45 strongest brands in the market at its 16th Superbrands Malaysia 2024 award ceremony held at Sheraton Hotel here last night.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Superbrands Malaysia Director Mike English said 2024 has seen an unprecedented number of local brands making it to the Superbrands list with new entrants in the market in addition to internationally recognised brands.
"This ceremony does not only honor the brands, but the stories behind them, the visionaries, the teams, and the communities that have transformed ideas into icons, and challenges into triumphs.
"Each brand recognised here tonight has not only set the bar high in its respective field but has earned the unwavering trust and admiration of customers across the globe," he said in his opening speech.
English said the 45 brands awarded are companies that have helped shape their respective industries and inspired others also to innovate, and to push boundaries further.
"Branding is akin to finding the right positioning inside the consumer's mind and going for it before someone else does so. No doubt that Malaysian made products have been growing from strength to strength and many local brands have created their own positive reputation," he said.
English said the 45 award recipients have proven they deserve to stand among equals or have become a more superior options than the older and traditional brands.
"Tonight, we recognize the hard work, passion, and determination that got you here. You have embraced challenges, faced competition, and stayed true to your mission. That perseverance is what makes you Superbrands.
"I hope this evening serves as a reminder of the impact your work has on the world and on generations to come," he said, congratulating all the winners.
Last night the awards were presented to winners by Public Relations Practitioners Society of Malaysia Chairman and former Deputy Education Minister, Datuk P. Kamalanathan and online personality Auntie Purple, in two sessions.
Kamalanathan meanwhile said as a former deputy cabinet minister, he have seen the evolution and progress of many brands in Malaysia.
" It warms my heart when foreign business leaders and decision makers already know of our local brands from Malaysian Batik to our other made in Malaysia brands that make us proud internationally.
"Ultimately, the sheer reputation and image of a leading brand is a high motivator for employees who like to be associated with national and global famous names. This in turn reinforces higher morale as well as employee loyalty as the best people always want to work for the best employers.
"Suppliers as well as customers too are reassured that they are working and dealing with a great brand.
" As regional and global borders shrink or even disappear, branding becomes even more crucial as the traditional brick and mortar models are overtaken by online initiatives," kamalanathan said.
Among the award recipients were brands such as Mydobi, Perfume Paradise, Hurix, Bunga Raya Ku's, Dental Malaya, Empire Sushi, Dora Slimming, Dr Anne skin care, Haier, My Flavor, ST Guchi, Kapten Batik, Maverick schools and Yun Nam hair care.
