SEPANG: Teleport, a cargo unit of Capital A group, has launched a specialised cargo services that focus on five products as it establishes itself as a full-service cargo provider in Southeast Asia.
The five products include Teleport charter, Teleport Priority, Teleport Pharma, Teleport Fresh and Teleport Live.
Its chief operating officer Adrian Loretz said the new products offered a range of tailor-made specialised cargo services to its ever-growing customer base.
"Along with the launch of our specialised cargo services, we're able to offer extended connectivity through our passenger network across all six airlines under AirAsia and cargo-only network which covers 130 destinations," he said at a media conference here today.
The Teleport charter is a specialised service where customers can book a charter cargo flight from Kuala Lumpur to Asia or even to Europe, while the Teleport Priority caters mostly to e-commerce business with high priority shipments.
The Teleport fresh serves customers who want to export or import perishable goods such as fresh flowers, vegetables and fruits. Teleport Pharma offers full-chain products with specialised on-ground handling, while Teleport Live transport live animals.
Meanwhile, Loretz said that Teleport had 252 aircraft in its fleet.
The cargo are either loaded in the belly of AirAsia's Airbus A320, A321 and A330 passenger aircraft, cargo-only aircraft such as the A320 and A330 as well as the Boeing B737-800F for cargo that needs containerised space.
He added that Teleport has a well-connected infrastructure with five cargo hubs in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and Don Muang catering to various freighter services.
Teleport also launched its first cargo booking app, which included fully digital booking and tracking services.
"We also launched an app, which allows our customers to access all the information that they need.
"It gives them quick access anywhere they want to make a booking, check on the system for their shipment. It gives full transparency across the whole shipping chain as long as their goods are with us," Loretz said.
