Maybank says sorry for online service disruption

KUALA LUMPUR: Malayan Banking Bhd (Maybank) says services on the Maybank2u web, M2U App, MAE App, and debit card usage has begun to experience slowness from 9am today, owing to unprecedented high traffic volumes across its platforms.

The bank's spokesperson said it was working on resolving and restoring services as soon as possible.

"Maybank would like to apologise to customers who are experiencing service disruption on the Maybank2u web, M2U App, MAE App and Debit card usage today.

"Please be assured that your account balances and details remain intact and secure with us.

"We apologise to all affected customers for the inconvenience caused from this disruption," the spokesperson said.

The spokesperson said it would continue to update their customers periodically via Maybank's official social media and M2U platforms.

Today's disruption is the third major outage to Maybank's debit card services and online platforms.

Just last week, the bank experienced disruption to debit card system and slowdowns to apps and web services.

The bank notified its customers on April 18 that their debit cards would be unusable temporarily while its website and standalone apps were also facing service delays.
