NetApp Malaysia announces new innovations for hybrid multi-cloud experiences

KUALA LUMPUR: NetApp Malaysia Sdn Bhd (NetApp) today announced new solutions to provide businesses with more simplicity, security and flexibility for their hybrid multi-cloud environments.

These new capabilities include improved ransomware protection, the hybrid cloud storage in a single subscription, unified management in a single user interface, and close collaboration with VMware to help transition workloads to the cloud, the company said in a statement.

"By delivering everything 'as-a-service', NetApp simplifies and optimises hybrid cloud environments with new capabilities," it said.

They include hybrid cloud storage-as-a-service (STaaS) in a single, flexible subscription to enable organisations to flexibly move workloads to and from the cloud in a single contract.

In addition to managing and monitoring data storage, protection, governance, and tiering across multi-cloud environments, NetApp's Cloud Manager can also provide services, track software licenses, monitor infrastructure health, and provide proactive recommendations that optimise costs and data protection with automated actions.

NetApp's new built-in cyber resilience capabilities include anti-ransomware, data protection, and security.

"Customers can protect a multitude of workloads, including enterprise apps, virtualised workloads, and modern containerised applications, against security breaches, quickly detect attacks, and rapidly recover data before experiencing any impact to operations," said the statement.

NetApp also empowers customers to modernise to the cloud using a supplemental datastore for data-intensive, storage demanding workloads running in a single or across multi-cloud environments.

NetApp senior vice president and general manager (Asia Pacific and Japan) Sanjay Rohatgi said these new solutions address challenges such as complexity of management, security risks, and cumbersome migration of workloads to the cloud.

He added that NetApp is working closely with partners to speed up the deployment of these solutions to deliver unified and consistent hybrid multi-cloud experiences for customers.
