KUALA LUMPUR: TH Heavy Engineering Bhd (THHE) is partnering with Tellus Asia Sdn Bhd and Enigma Technical Solutions Sdn Bhd to jointly undertake shipbuilding and ship repair projects, as well as in-support services (ISS) for the maritime sector.
In a statement today, THHE said this was part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen business prospects by unlocking new opportunities for future contracts.
"As part of the agreement, THHE, Tellus Asia and Enigma will explore areas of collaboration, with a clear mapping of roles and obligations, including either entering into a definitive agreement to implement the collaboration or by setting up a joint venture company to undertake the potential projects," it said.
THHE chief executive officer Ahmad Yusof Mohamad said the extensive technical and operational experience of Tellus Asia and Enigma would unlock further value for the company and contribute to driving the development of the maritime industry in Malaysia.
"In addition, building on Tellus Asia and Enigma's proven track record, the collaboration is set to open up prospects for THHE over the long term.
"With all parties bringing complementary sets of expertise, we look forward to tapping into each other's potential to leverage on new opportunities.
"Through knowledge sharing and technology transfer, we will also be well-positioned to contribute to the development of a strong talent pool for the nation, while spurring the adoption of advanced technology and innovation in line with the aspirations of the 12th Malaysia Plan," he said.
Established in 2017, Tellus Asia is engaged in shipbuilding and repair in both public and private sectors and has delivered more than 25 vessels to date in Malaysia.
Enigma is an expert in technical, project and contract management, consultancy, training and integrated logistics support especially in the defence, marine and industrial sectors.
