KUALA LUMPUR: Legoland Malaysia, the country's first international theme park and the first Legoland theme park in Asia, is celebrating its 10 years of awesomeness with a month-long exclusive shows and loads of specially curated activities.
The celebration kicked off last Friday with, among others, the unveiling of the largest Lego Cake standing at 12-feet tall, made with more than 90,000 Lego Duplo bricks and took up to 320 hours to build!
Designed with a touch of Malaysian flair, the anniversary cake features the Hornbill, Wau, and Hibiscus flowers and will be displayed for the entire month.
Guests were invited to build precious memories with Legoland Malaysia by building their very own Lego DOTS masterpiece, and meeting the newest Lego Character Friends.
They also stand a chance of walking away with special prizes worth up to RM50,000 in the Lucky Wheel session to win Legoland Hotel stay, day tickets, annual passes, Lego sets and exclusive Legoland merchandise.
Legoland Malaysia divisional director CS Lim outlined the company's pledge to continue to enhance current offerings and establish new activities to provide its guests with a truly unique experience.
"A decade is a very significant milestone for us at Legoland Malaysia Resort considering how much we've grown and build lifelong memories together.
"We have been creating wonderful moments and unique experiences together in Legoland for the past 10 years and intend to continue doing so for many more," Lim said.
Legoland Malaysia is enhancing the theme park with new festive events and leisure activities, while also refurbishing Legoland Hotel rooms with new themes, to ride on the country's tourism recovery.
This is also align with the resort's priorities to attract new and repeat visitations from domestic and international tourists,
Legoland Malaysia opened its doors in Sept 15 2012, and it was reported that an investment of RM720 million was put on the development, while another RM190 million was spent on Legoland Hotel, which opened on Nov 29, 2013.
It is an ideal family holiday destination with more than 80 hands-on rides, slides, shows and other attractions offering adventure, education and fun for action-packed day trips or a shoert break.
It covers the same area of more than 50 full size footbal pitches and contains more than 15,000 Lego models made from over 60 million Lego bricks.
Besides Legoland Hotel and the "dry" Legoland park, the resort's other components are Legoland Water Park and Sea Life Aquarium.
Legoland Water Park was officially launched on Oct 21 2013, offering more than 20 unique water-based rides and over 70 Lego models, among its many attractions.
Sea Life Aquarium was opened on May 9 2019, providing immersive experience in an intyimate and interactive journey underneath the waves.
It has more than 25 display tanks in 11 habitat zones, featuring over 13,000 sea creatures from 120 species.
