Huawei Malaysia, Progressture Power and JJ-LAPP to collaborate, advance green digital transitions in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Huawei Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Huawei Malaysia), Progressture Power Sdn Bhd (Progressture Solar), and JJ-LAPP (M) Sdn Bhd (JJ-LAPP) has collaborated to advance green digital transitions in Malaysia.

The parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the latter's solar energy venture in its quest to develop projects in renewable energy, green information, communication and technology (ICT) infrastructure, energy savings and emission reductions.

The MoU will position Huawei and JJ-Lapp as the preferred partners for potential customers seeking trustworthy, reliable, secure, and assured cleantech solutions.

The deal will position Progressture Solar as a key service provider with a shared philosophy of helping local and multinational companies transition to net-zero carbon emissions.

In the drive towards sustainable development goals in the country, the MoU will see the three parties utilise and share their combined capabilities within the renewable energy sector to deploy reliable green infrastructures and technology.

The MoU also aims to provide a stronger ecosystem of new possibilities for renewable energy industry players.

Progressture Solar co-founder and chief operating officer Ng Yew Weng said this partnership paves an extensive way for the company to deliver more robust, comprehensive, and clean energy solutions.

Ng said this includes solar PV systems, battery energy storage systems (BESS), electric vehicle (EV) charging, and green data centres.

"With these solutions, we aid businesses to seamlessly transition to clean energy, decarbonise, strengthen their ESG profile, and ultimately move towards a greener economy," he said.

Huawei Malaysia vice president of the digital power business group Chong Chern Peng said the strategic partnership through the MoU demonstrates Huawei Malaysia's commitment to supporting its customers in finding clean energy technology solutions.

Chong believes the partnership can deliver comprehensive solutions that meet the expectations of its customers.

"In the long run, with a robust portfolio of solar projects, we will be able to establish a recurring income stream," he said.

The strategic partnership between the three companies is also set to become the go-to solution for digital energy transitions, specifically for commercial and industrial (C&I) clients.

With this collaboration, Progressture Solar will invest heavily in the ownership and development of clean energy assets, including solar PV systems for businesses, EV charging network solutions, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and green data centre facilities.

JJ-LAPP will be the product partner for Progressture Solar, providing the delivery of green products and solutions to meet the needs of C&I clients.

Huawei Malaysia will bring its expertise as a global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider to manufacture and equip the technical infrastructure for the tripartite venture.
