ASNB logs RM2.6 million in investments at 5th Auto Labur campaign

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of RM2.6 million was invested in Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) unit trust funds during the fifth Jom Auto Labur (Auto Labur) campaign that ran from October to December last year.

Its chief executive officer and executive director, Muzaffar Othman, said 6,348 transactions were made under the campaign, which involved participants signing up for monthly deductions from their bank accounts to invest in ASNB funds.

He said the campaign offered a total of RM 255,000 in prizes to 719 winners.

He also said ASNB had raised awareness of the importance of investment and financial planning.

"This can be seen through the positive participation in Auto Labur, which has recorded a total of RM292 million since it was launched four years ago," he said in a statement.

He added that on June 12, ASNB which is by Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), celebrated the winners of last year's Jom Auto Labur campaign.

He said the first prize winner of the fifth Jom Labur campaign, Farisha Fran Patrick, from Sibu, Sarawak, went home with a Perodua Alza.

"Three participants won second prize in the campaign: Fanny Eva, Azuwiza Darus and Nor Famiza Amielia Shuhaimi, each won a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle.

"This was followed by five contestants who won third prize in the campaign, taking home an Apple iPhone 14. They are Nur Kamilah Mazlan, Nurulhuda Mahat, Jumiah Katiman, Mohamad Razaleigh Zulkifli and Nur Insyirah Zulkhaire," he said.

Muzaffar said in conjunction with Amanah Saham Malaysia 2022 Week that was held recently, ASNB also announced 10 consolation prize winners in the form of an Apple iPad, 450 monthly prizes consisting of ASB units worth RM100 each, 150 bonus prizes, which are Amanah Saham Bumiputera (ASB) units worth RM300 each, and 100 special prizes.

Muzaffar urged unit holders to take advantage of the government's announcement on the increase in investment limit for ASB and Amanah Saham Bumiputera 2 (ASB 2).

"The government has announced an increase in the investment limit for ASB and ASB 2 from RM200,000 to RM300,000.

Introduced in 2019, Auto Labur helps investors invest consistently according to their financial ability through deduction from the investor's bank account without any charge.

The Auto Labur facility on the myASNB platform leverages the Direct Debit service to facilitate investors automatic periodic investments for their own unit trust accounts, minor accounts (smart/teen accounts), and eligible third parties.
