KUALA LUMPUR: Xeranti Sdn Bhd (XSB) has undertaken a 20-year abandoned housing project in Serendah, Selangor as a white knight property developer, which will be the benchmark for green sustainable, and affordable housing development.
XSB, in a statement, said this undertaking signifies a new era in Malaysia's suburban growth, aiming to transform the landscape into a model of sustainable community development.
Spanning over 100 acres of leasehold land, the abandoned housing project is strategically located just one kilometre off the recently completed Rawang by-pass and within a two-kilometre perimeter of both the KTM station and the new East Coast Rail Line (ECRL) Serendah station.
XSB executive chairman Basarudin Mohd Tapi said the company is committed to restoring the abandoned housing project to push forward a vibrant and sustainable future for the community.
"It's more than a business venture. It is a commitment to the community, a vision for a vibrant and sustainable future," he said in a statement.
The briefing and explanation of the revitalisation and rehabilitation of the housing project today were witnessed by Selangor caretaker chief minister Datuk Seri Amiruddin Shari and the state housing, urban well-being, and entrepreneur development committee chairperson Rodziah Ismail.
The project will take seven years and five phases to complete.
Acting as a white knight company, Basarudin said XSB takes on the task of understanding the needs of the purchasers and the community.
He said that with upcoming ECRL connectivity and accessibility, this project will transform the suburban landscape into a vibrant community hub, providing new opportunities to those who have waited so long for this housing project's completion.
