TM introduces best in market broadband packages

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) has launched new Unifi broadband plans, which include significant price reductions, integrated business solutions, and value-added converged lifestyle services, all aimed at providing more affordable options.

Unifi has made significant adjustments to its 100 megabits per second (Mbps) plan, now available for just RM89 per month for a limited time.

This high-speed option is priced on par with its former 30Mbps plan.

Unifi executive vice-president Anand Vijayan said Unifi's new packages aim to uplift customers to a new Internet experience of 100Mbps, which delivers the best user experience in line with the consumption patterns of many households in Malaysia.

He added that this will also ensure more Malaysians can take advantage of higher internet speeds at lower prices.

"These packages were developed to enhance digital inclusivity among all Malaysians, improving access to connectivity including 5G, technologies, and digital opportunities that will power the country's digital aspirations.

"One such package is Unifi's converged 100Mbps high-speed broadband plan that is coupled with Unifi's UNI5G Postpaid Unlimited 5G+4G mobile data plan, delivering the best connectivity experiences anywhere, anytime," he said in a recent media briefing.

The new bundled plan for seamless at-home and on-the-go connectivity is affordably priced at RM149 per month and made available through a three-year contract.

Addressing concerns about the affordability of 5G-enabled devices, this new bundle also comes with a free 5G smartphone, allowing more Malaysians to conveniently adopt and enjoy 5G capabilities.

Anand added that in doing so, Unifi is raising the baseline for high-speed broadband in the country, increasing speeds while lowering prices to improve access and digital opportunities for all customer segments.

Unifi has also redesigned its 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) and 2Gbps broadband packages for consumers, powering smart homes and serving the growing needs of families and power users.

To empower digital inclusivity across all segments of society, Anand highlighted that Unifi will continue to offer its Unifi Rahmah Package for key customer groups and underserved communities, including senior citizens, people with disabilities, B40 communities, and veterans.

"Supporting the government's continuous efforts to ensure the digital advancement of all Malaysians, the plan is specially curated with unlimited 30Mbps fixed broadband at the low price of RM69.

"Ensuring these key segments also receive access to 5G and its advantages, eligible customers can also subscribe to Unifi's 5G Rahmah Package, which offers unlimited 5G data, as well as 5G smartphones from as low as RM120," he noted.

To enable digital transformation for micro small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs), Unifi has lowered the prices of all its Unifi Biz Fibre offerings from 100Mbps to 2Gbps.

Anand added that these lower prices aim to support more MSMEs in their digital adoption, ensuring that these businesses not only survive in today's digital economy but have every opportunity to thrive.

"Adding more value for businesses, these new broadband plans come bundled with Unifi's Simple Voice Plan, offering the lowest voice rates across any network for calls to any fixed or mobile line nationwide.

"MSMEs will also be given priority at the new Unifi Concept Store, with access to the Unifi Business Premium Lane to address issues or specialised inquiries on Unifi Business solutions," he said.

For Unifi existing customers, Anand announced as part of these new plans, all eligible customers will also be automatically upgraded to the next higher internet speed at no additional cost, and with no obligations and no service re-contract required.

He noted that this free speed upgrade will be rolled out to all Unifi customers, driving home its commitment to deliver higher speeds at lower prices to all customer segments.

"The transition is anticipated to take place in phases between now and January 2024," he added.

Meanwhile, to level up customer experience, Unifi will continue offering its 24-hour service guarantee for all customers, ensuring their connectivity will be up and running quickly and hassle-free.

Unifi also continues to extend its customer experience through proactive analytics to identify service issues before it impacts customers and carrying out remote restorations whenever possible.

This can be managed via the myUnifi app, which also serves as a one-stop portal for all Unifi's customers' needs.

Furthermore, Anand said Unifi Elite team also provides expert support on Wi-Fi assessment and consultation to improve customer's Unifi Home connectivity experience, emphasising the value of personalised, human touchpoints throughout the customer journey.

"These are part of Unifi's continuous commitment to deliver meaningful and accessible customer experiences alongside its unique product offerings," he noted.
