MCCC signs five MoUs to grow Malaysia-Cambodia business ties

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) has facilitated the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with five notable associations, marking the beginning of a fresh phase of cooperation and expansion.

The MCCC signed agreements with the Cambodia Chinese Commerce Association (CCCA), Cambodia Tourism Federation (CTF), Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA), Federation of Association For SMEs Cambodia (FASMEC), and Association of VMOVE Entrepreneur Cambodia (VMOVE) between Dec 11 and 13, 2023.

On December 11,  the MCCC and CCCA inked an MOU aimed at

fostering trade, investment, and business development.

On December 12, MCCC signed agreements with  CTF and

PATA for collaborative efforts to promote tourism,

cultural exchange, and sustainable development between Malaysia and Cambodia.

While on December 13, the MCCC agreed to work with  FASMEC and VMOVE to support small and medium enterprises,

fostering innovation, and promote adventure tourism.

The MOU signings have attracted considerable interest from both the business and diplomatic sectors, underscoring the significance of these partnerships within the regional context.

In April 2024, the MCCC will organise a trade mission which offers valuable opportunities for Cambodian business leaders and entrepreneurs to connect with the Malaysian market.

"This mission seeks to strengthen economic relations between the two countries and establish a platform for mutually advantageous partnerships," it said in a note.

Collaborating with relevant associations, the mission anticipates the execution of these agreements.
