KUALA LUMPUR: The Eversendai Group of Companies has secured new contracts in India, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) for a combined RM5.4 billion.
In Saudi Arabia, Eversendai Engineering Saudi Arabia LLC, in collaboration with Albawani Company Limited, has secured the contract for the mountain resort, Trojena Ski Village.
The project involves a wide range of duties, including engineering, connection design, material procurement, fabrication, and the installation of structural steel, precast and concreting, metal decking, and fireproofing.
In the UAE, Eversendai Mega Structure FZ LLC has secured the structural steel aspect for the Wynn Al Marjan Island Integrated Resort development in Ras Al Khaimah.
This development will feature a luxury hotel comprising 1,500 rooms, along with shopping, meeting and convention facilities, restaurants and lounges, and entertainment options.
Eversendai in Mumbai secured two structural steel projects, including the Rupa IT Building and the Rupa Crystal IT Building.
Tan Sri AK Nathan, executive chairman and group managing director of Eversendai Corporation Bhd, expressed that these contract wins underscore the group's robust capabilities in securing and delivering projects across Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and India.
He highlighted that these victories have pushed the group's current outstanding order book to a historic high of RM6.6 billion.
When contacted, Nathan told Business Times that the group is currently bidding for projects in the Middle East and India in the region of about RM12 billion.
He is upbeat about Eversendai's prospects despite recent setbacks made worse by the effects of the pandemic.
Nathan expects a robust recovery in the group's performance driven by the record-high order book.
He said that Eversendai is gearing up to expand its fabrication failities this year,
The utilisation rates at all the existing seven steel fabrication factories are anticipated to reach full utilisation capacity starting in the third quarter of 2024, he said.
With an annual capacity of more than 200,000 tons, the cutting-edge fabrication yards are situated in Malaysia, Singapore, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras al Khaimah, Qatar, and India.
