KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd and DRB-HICOM University of Automotive (DRBHU) have forged a partnership to offer accessible and cost-effective financing solutions for students pursuing higher education at the university.
Through this collaboration, DRBHU students, particularly those facing financial constraints, can now avail themselves of affordable funding options to support their educational endeavors, thanks to the support provided by Bank Muamalat.
This initiative reflects the concerted efforts of both Bank Muamalat and DRBHU, entities under the DRB-HICOM Bhd group, in nurturing skilled professionals to meet the dynamic demands of Malaysia's automotive industry.
Khairul Kamarudin, president and chief executive officer of Bank Muamalat, hailed the collaboration as a mutually beneficial endeavor for all parties involved.
"This financing facility could also benefit other institutions of higher learning that are eager to provide additional support to their students," Khairul added.
Echoing this sentiment, DRBHU's professor and vice chancellor, Datuk Sr. Dr. Omar Osman, emphasised that the collaboration with Bank Muamalat enhances inclusivity in educational services.
"This collaboration provides our current and potential students easy access to affordable educational financing as low as 2.93 per cent through Bank Muamalat's Cash-i Muamalat Education Financing," he said.
Students at DRBHU are eligible to apply for funds of up to RM100,000, spanning from skills certificates and foundation programs to doctoral degrees.
Omar underscored the significance of addressing the financial barriers many aspiring students encounter in pursuing their education.
"This collaboration chips away at that obstacle and allows for greater access to university students of all levels," he said.
