KUALA LUMPUR: The Asia Nano Forum (ANF) has appointed NanoMalaysia Berhad's chief executive officer Dr Rezal Khairi Ahmad as its new president.
ANF said that Rezal's appointment as its president signals a new era of collaboration and innovation in the field of nanotechnology across Asia.
"Rezal's dual leadership role will synergise the efforts of NanoMalaysia and ANF, amplifying their impact on the regional nanotechnology landscape.
"He is poised to steer both organisations towards greater heights of success with his proven track record of crafting successful business strategies and fostering collaboration among government agencies and industries," ANF said in a statement today.
ANF said that Rezal shall leverage this presidency to support and add value to Malaysia's role as ASEAN Chair in 2025 from the technological development and commercialisation aspects aligning to the country's perennial aspiration to become a technology-creating nation.
Meanwhile, Rezal said he felt honoured to assume the presidency of ANF and to continue leading it in their shared mission to advance nanotechnology for the benefit of society.
"By harnessing the collective expertise and resources of both NanoMalaysia and ANF, we can drive meaningful progress and unlock the full potential of nanotechnology in Asia and beyond towards the benefits of people, planet, and profit," he added.
Prior to this appointment, Rezal served as ANF vice president and treasurer in previous terms, and he has been a member of the Industry Advisory Panel for the Malaysian Petroleum Resources Corporation since 2021.
He has served as an international advisor for the China Graphene Industry Alliance (CGIA), establishing links with Malaysia's National Graphene Action Plan 2020 and promoting reciprocal economic gains.
