Tropicana Corporation Berhad and VitaHealth Malaysia will host Malaysia's longest Offline 16 event next month, in line with their commitment to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.
This first-of-its-kind event pays homage to World Mental Health Day by the World Health Organization.
Tropicana's chief executive officer, Ong Chou Wen, said the company started its sustainable journey centred around eight development DNAs and three ESG pillars, namely people, planet, and partnership.
"With this in mind, we respect the well-being of our people, as we believe mental health should be valued, promoted, and protected. We strongly support the Offline 16 event, encouraging everyone to learn the benefits of mental wellness and obtain the right support system," he said.
More than 200 participants are expected at the event, which will be held on August 17 at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort.
The event fosters face-to-face interactions with the participants without the use of mobile devices or screen time for 16 consecutive hours.
Participants will be treated to a series of activities like fitness challenges, a games zone, an F&B corner, a reading alcove, a therapy sanctuary, health checks, yoga sessions, stand-up comedy performances, and sharing sessions with the Malaysian Mental Health Association.
Dr. KS Beh, chief executive officer of VitaHealth (Malaysia and Singapore), said, "As a global nutrition provider for more than 70 years, our group firmly believes in our long-standing value that the true quality of life stems from a harmonious balance between physical health and mental wellness."
Beh said that in recent years, the prevalence of mental health issues has become a global concern.
Apart from the usual triggers such as family dynamics, work stress, and financial pressures, widespread exposure to digital platforms and gadgets has emerged as one of the main contributors.
"It has significantly impacted our lives, often leading to increased stress levels. By partnering with Tropicana, this joint effort will bring a myriad of benefits to the participants, offering sensory, personalised, and impactful experiences for one to unplug, unwind, and recharge," Dr. Beh added.
