KUALA LUMPUR: MY EG Services Bhd jumped as much as 4.9 per cent to 96 sen a share today after it announced a partnership with MIMOS Bhd, the Worldcoin Foundation, and Tools For Humanity (TFH) to integrate advanced credential verification technology into Malaysia's Blockchain Infrastructure (MBI).
As at 11.46am, it was 1.64 per cent higher at 93 sen with some 45.3 million shares changing hands.
The company announced on Friday that the partnership will also assess the feasibility of potential local manufacturing of Orbs, and TFH's hardware and software tools for human verification.
For its first quarter ended Mar 31, 2024 (Q1 2024) the company posted a net profit of RM155.83 million, up 47.09 per cent from RM105.94 million a year ago. The expansion was supported by contributions from its Zetrix blockchain platform services and sale of Zetrix tokens. The company's revenue rose 34.49 per cent to RM232.96 million in Q1 2024 from RM173.22 million last year.
