Ranhill Utilities founder Hamdan Mohamad vacates CEO post after YTL Power's takeover

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Sri Hamdan Mohamad has tendered his resignation as Ranhill Utilities Bhd group chief executive officer following the sale of his stake in the company he founded to YTL Power International Bhd.

The resignation follows his resignation as chairman and executive director of Ranhill Utilities on Aug 2.

The resignations are part of a series of boardroom changes after YTL Power and its unit SIPP Power Sdn Bhd, successfully took over Ranhill Utilities.

Several other board members also resigned, and YTL Power has since appointed five new directors, four of whom are linked to the company.

YTL Power raised it stakes in Ranhill Utilities to over 53.0 per cent after acquiring all shares owned by Hamdan.
