KUALA LUMPUR: Amanah Saham Nasional Berhad (ASNB) has declared an income distribution of 4.75 sen per unit for Amanah Saham Malaysia 2 - Wawasan (ASM 2 Wawasan).
The total income distribution for the fixed price fund amounted to RM1.13 billion for the financial year ending Aug 31, 2024, the wholly-owned unit trust management company of Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) said in a statement today.
This will benefit more than 939,200 unitholders whereby the distribution will be automatically re-invested as additional units into their accounts on Sept 1, 2024. As of Aug 26, 2024, ASM 2 Wawasan recorded a net realised income of RM1.27 billion while its total gross income stood at RM1.54 billion.
The distribution translates to total returns of 4.75 per cent, outperforming its benchmark Maybank 12-month fixed deposit at 2.71 per cent by 204 basis points.
According to ASNB, the income for ASM 2 Wawasan is derived from capital gains, dividends, and other revenue sources from both domestic and international investments.
"Income from equities remains a major contributor as international and domestic investment contributed 48 per cent and 40.6 per cent respectively to the fund's gross income."
"The fund has also benefitted from the diversification of the portfolios into other asset classes, particularly real estate and private equity which represent 8.6 per cent of the total net asset value (NAV)," it said.
ASNB said the computation of income distribution for ASM 2 Wawasan is based on the average minimum monthly balance held throughout the financial year of the fund.
