KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Bhd now anticipates receiving its first Airbus A330neo aircraft in October 2024, rather than this month as originally planned.
Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) group managing director Datuk Captain Izham Ismail stated that the first delivery from the new order is scheduled for October 29, 2024.
The company also expects to receive five more A330neos by the first quarter of next year.
According to Airbus' website, the A330neo (new engine option) family, which includes the A330-900 and A330-800 models, has a flight range lasting from 30 minutes to 17 hours.
Malaysia Airlines ordered 20 A330neos as part of its plan to gradually replace its existing fleet of 21 A330s.
The airline will equip its A330neo fleet with a premium configuration, accommodating 300 passengers across two classes.
