TNB announces 25 sen interim dividend for FY2024

KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) today announced an interim dividend of 25 sen per ordinary share for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2024.

Based on its financial report for the second quarter of 2024, this totals a payout of RM1.45 billion across 5.81 billion shares.

According to the filing on Bursa Malaysia, the dividend payment is scheduled for Oct 17, 2024.

The company's net profit surged to RM1.44 billion for the second quarter of 2024 (2Q24), due to higher operating profit coupled with favourable foreign exchange translation.

TNB's revenue for the quarter rose to RM14.36 billion from RM13.32 billion in the same period last year.

This was due to higher sales of electricity by 5.7 per cent or RM745.8 million.

TNB's stock saw a decline of 0.55 per cent, dropping 0.8 sen to RM14.58 from its previous closing price of RM14.66, bringing its market capitalisation to RM84.75 billion.
