KUALA LUMPUR: UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd sold a total of 7,700 vehicles in September, 9.4 per cent lower than the 8,500 units recorded in August.
UMW Toyota said the year-to-date sales as of September stood at 72,000 units.
"This consistent growth represents UMW Toyota's position as a key player in the Malaysian automotive market, thanks to its strong lineup of reliable and innovative vehicles," it said.
UMW Toyota president Datuk Ravindran K said the company's performance this month reflects not only the strength of its products but also the loyalty of the customers.
"We remain committed to delivering value and innovative automotive solutions that match the aspirations of Malaysians," Ravindran said in a statement.
For September 2024, the Toyota Vios, Hilux, and Corolla Cross, making up 69 per cent of units sold, were among the best-sellers.
The models continue to meet the diverse needs of Malaysian customers, whether for everyday urban driving or outdoor adventures, UMW Toyota said.
The company said it will be participating in an automotive sales expo at Setia City Convention Centre on Oct 26-27.
The event, expected to attract 12,000 visitors, focuses on year-end promotions and exclusive offers from various automotive brands.
"Toyota will showcase a wide range of its vehicles, with opportunities for test drives and special promotions exclusive to the event," Ravindran said.
