TOYOTA Dream Car Art Contest (DCAC) is making a return for its 18th edition.
DCAC aims to empower children across Malaysia to imagine and design vehicles that will shape a better tomorrow.
"Whether it's an eco-friendly car, a vehicle promoting unity, or a groundbreaking new mode of transport, the contest encourages young participants to dream big. Toyota encourages children to unleash their imaginations through this exciting competition," UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd said.
DCAC is a global competition, held by Toyota Motor Corporation in various countries, to inspire children to think creatively and dream about the future of mobility.
The contest also serves as a platform for Toyota distributors worldwide to engage with their local communities and strengthen customer connections.
"The Toyota Dream Car Art Contest is more than just a competition. It's an opportunity for children to explore their creativity and envision a better future through mobility.
"We are thrilled for the return of this contest, as it continues to inspire young minds to dream big and think about how their ideas can shape tomorrow's world. We believe in fostering innovation and building connections with the younger generation, and this contest reflects that commitment," said Datuk Ravindran K, president of UMW Toyota.
The company said DCAC has long been a platform where the next generation of thinkers and innovators can showcase their visions.
It also allows UMW Toyota to deepen its engagement with local communities, reinforcing the brand's commitment to innovation, education, and social responsibility.
"Your Dream Car" is the theme for this year's contest, which runs from now to Jan 31 2025, and is open to children in three age groups:
• Group 1: 7 years old and under
• Group 2: 8 to 11 years old
• Group 3: 12 to 15 years old
Each category will receive three top winners (gold, silver and bronze) and two consolation prizes.
The top nine entries from Malaysia (three from each category) will be submitted to Japan to compete in the global World Contest, with the final winners to be announced in August 2025 by Toyota.
In the previous edition, the contest saw a remarkable 710,000 submissions from 90 countries.
This year's contest provides an opportunity for children to explore both hand-drawn and digital artwork, offering them the freedom to use a wide range of materials and techniques.
Submissions can be in A3 format or provided as high-resolution digital files in JPG or PNG format.
