China urges banks to prevent loans from illegally flowing into stocks

SHANGHAI/BEIJING: Chinese regulators have urged financial institutions to strengthen internal control over leverage, and prevent bank loans from illegally entering the stock market, a newspaper affiliated to China's central bank said on Tuesday.

The window guidance - or verbal instructions - from China's financial regulators are aimed at protecting investors, said the Financial News, affiliated with the People's Bank of China.
