Petronas Gas was among top gainers today after Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Petronas will continue oil and gas exploration in Malaysia's South China Sea zone, despite China's objections.
The stock was up 24 cents to RM17.86.
The 30-stock key index was down earlier, tracking Wall Street's overnight dip on selling pressure in oil and chip stocks.
The index will likely trend within the 1,630 to 1,650 range for today.
In the crypto market, Bitcoin traded higher at RM284,309.
Ethereum was trending higher at RM11,024, while Solana was also up at RM651.
