Gamuda Berhad was among the most active and top turnover stock in early trade after it secured a project worth RM4.3 billion to deliver the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) in Taiwan.
The 30-stock key index opened firmer at 1,644.21.
The FBM KLCI is expected to trend between the 1,640 to 1,650 range today.
In the cryptocurrency market, Bitcoin traded higher at RM291,588.
Ethereum stood at RM11,337, and Solana was trading at RM724.
