Affin Bank Bhd closed higher after Sarawak Premier announced that deals to acquire a majority stake in the banking group will be finalised this week.
The stock closed 4.53 per cent higher at RM3.
The 30-stock key index closed 0.2 per cent lower at 1,665 dragged by the plantation sector.
It is expected to trend within the 1,660 and 1,680 range this week.
In the crypto market, Bitcoin traded slightly higher at RM267,310.
It reached a one-month high today after the Federal Reserve cut rates last week.
