KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Bhd's subsidiary Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd has secured a RM451.4 million contract to build a data centre in Cyberjaya.
The contract, awarded by engineering company BCEI Malaysia Sdn Bhd, covers foundation, civil, structural and architectural (FCSA) works.
The firm specialises in planning, design, and construction of Information Technology (IT) facilities for Fortune 500 companies.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Gamuda said the construction is set to begin in the final quarter of 2024, with completion expected by the first quarter of 2026.
The scope of work includes the foundation, civil and structural as well as architectural tasks.
"The Cyberjaya data centre FCSA works is expected to contribute positively to the revenue and earnings of Gamuda group for the financial year ending July 31, 2025 till completion of the FCSA works.
"Gamuda will make the necessary announcement to Bursa Malaysia as and when there is a material development in relation to the works," it said.
As at 12.30pm, Gamuda's share stood at RM8.49, giving it a market capitalisation of RM23.95 billion.
