KUALA LUMPUR: AWC Bhd has secured a subcontract worth RM19.9 million from Gamuda Engineering Sdn Bhd for construction works related to a data centre project in Rawang, Gombak.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities, the facilities and waste management services company said its subsidiary Qudotech Sdn Bhd received the letter of award involving construction and completion of cold water, rainwater harvesting, water reticulation, fire hydrant, foul water and sewerage services.
It said the subcontract runs from Sept 2, 2024 to Nov 18, 2025.
"The subcontract works are in the ordinary course of business of Qudotech. The potential risks involved in these sub-contract works are considered normal operational risks and are the same with any other works of such nature undertaken," it added.
AWC said the sub-contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings of the AWC Group over the duration of the project.
The company's share price closed 1 per cent or 1 sen higher at RM1.06 on Tuesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM357.8 million.
