KUALA LUMPUR: Gamuda Land has held a groundbreaking ceremony for two public primary schools within Gamuda Cove.
The schools will be developed in two phases and will cater to 2,400 students across 48 classrooms once completed.
The first phase for both schools is targeted for completion by 2026.
Gamuda said the initiative emphasised the importance of educational facilities in urban development, with the government continuing to collaborate with key stakeholders, such as township developers, to ensure that school planning in new townships is implemented correctly from the outset.
The company said when it masterplanned Gamuda Cove, its vision was to create an urban sanctuary and smart city where people can truly grow up and grow old in.
"By ensuring that education is integrated into our developments, alongside public parks, commercial centres, and green spaces, we aim to provide families with a home place where they can thrive.
"These schools are a testament to our commitment to building vibrant, self-sustaining communities where residents can enjoy a high quality of life," said Gamuda Bhd chairman Tan Sri Ambrin Buang.
In addition to these primary schools, Gamuda Cove already hosts the Big Apple Preschool at The Hive, catering to early childhood education.
It will welcome an affordable international school by Taylor's Education Group by 2027.
These educational institutions address a growing demand for schooling options in the region.
