KUALA LUMPUR: Bursa Malaysia closed higher lifted by financial services and healthcare heavyweights.
The FTSE Bursa Malaysia (FBM) KLCI added 0.1 per cent or 1.55 points to 1,615.64 versus Wednesday's close of 1,614.09.
The index moved between 1,610.77 and 1,617.78 levels throughout the day.
The broader market saw gainers led losers 532 to 527, while 535 counters were unchanged.
On the index board, FBM Emas and FBM100 both added 0.11 per cent to 12,328.19 and 12,014.28 points respectively.
FBM Ace tumbled 0.39 per cent to 5,244.76.
Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd said the positive performance by the banking heavyweights was driven by commendable performance in the financing segments following the recent quarterly earnings.
"The export-oriented sector, healthcare, continued to benefit from the weakening of the ringgit, while industrial products and services declined the most," it added.
