KUALA LUMPUR: Awanbiru Technology Bhd's (Awantec) unit Awantec Systems Sdn Bhd has secured a one-year extension to its cloud framework agreement (CFA 1.0) with the government.
The company is responsible for managing and delivering Google cloud services to the government.
The extension will be effective from Jan 1 until Dec 31, or until the availability of CFA 2.0, whichever comes earlier, it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
The cloud-based service provider initially entered into the agreement with the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu) and Google Cloud Malaysia Sdn Bhd in March 2022, to provide the specified service for up to 35 months until Dec 31, 2024.
The agreement was to establish the scope and basic terms for the government's purchase of Google's cloud services.
"This extension underscores the continued and strengthened collaboration between all parties involved to support the government of Malaysia's cloud initiatives, ensuring continued progress and innovation in cloud infrastructure and solutions," Awantec said.
Awantec's share price closed unchanged at 32 sen with a RM252.8 million market capitalisation.
