KUALA LUMPUR: Itmax System Bhd has secured a RM11.84 million upgrade and maintenance job for a selection of closed-circuit camera system from Penang city council (MBPP).
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities, the artificial intelligence-powered integrated digital infrastructure service provider said it will provide upgrading and maintenance services for the system for the period Jan 13, 2025 to Sep 12, 2030.
Itmax's second contract with MBPP focuses on upgrading the existing close-circuit cameras and providing maintenance for a selection of MBPP's existing video surveillance infrastructure.
The scope of the contract includes integrating several of Itmax's in-house developed traffic-related artificial intelligence features, aimed at enhancing the efficiency and functionality of the current system.
"This marks a significant milestone for Itmax as we have been awarded the opportunity to expand our solutions on the Penang Island," Itmax System managing director/chief executive officer William Tan Wei Lun said in a statement.
The company's stock was up one per cent to RM3.76 a share earlier, giving it a market capitalisation of RM3.85 billion.
