Angkasa introduces new protection scheme to support customers

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Cooperative Movement (Angkasa), through its subsidiary MyAngkasa Holdings Sdn Bhd, aims to support over 216,000 customers with its newly launched MyAngkasa Plus Protection Scheme.

This initiative stems from a collaboration between MyAngkasa Holdings, Zurich Takaful Malaysia Bhd, and Zurich General Takaful Malaysia Bhd.

Angkasa President Datuk Seri Abdul Fattah Abdullah said the cooperative is committed to ensuring the scheme is managed with the highest standards of governance to ensure beneficiaries receive their entitlements without any uncertainties.

"This is a new initiative that distinguishes this scheme from existing products in the market.

"We are targeting more than 216,000 customers, involving over 7.2 million accounts, to benefit from this scheme," Abdul Fattah said at the launch of the MyAngkasa Plus Protection Scheme here today.

MyAngkasa Plus Protection Scheme is designed to provide comprehensive protection for its members and includes key features such as hibah (Islamic inheritance gift), will writing, and estate management services, setting it apart from similar products in the market.

The scheme offers three affordable plans, starting at just RM33.00 per month. It provides coverage for natural death up to RM70,000 and accidental death up to RM150,000.

The scheme includes coverage for permanent disability, terminal illness, and ambulance fees, which can help ease the financial burden on members and their families in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Additionally, it also offers coverage for involuntary job loss due to accidents amounting to RM10,000, as part of an initiative to provide a more competitive product.

Zurich chief executive officer Nur Fatihah Mustafa said through this collaboration, the scheme provides the option of managing the distribution of takaful benefits via MyAngkasa Amanah Bhd.

Nur Fatihah said this initiative ensures that takaful benefits can be managed more systematically through MyAngkasa Amanah.

"Zurich Takaful believes that the takaful contribution payments for this scheme can ensure continuous coverage through regular payments.

"As a result, members no longer need to worry about making takaful contribution payments when joining this scheme, as it will be handled via salary deductions managed by Angkasa," she added.
