Malaysia's current account surplus narrows to RM3b in Q2

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's current account surplus narrowed to RM3 billion (US$675.2 million) in the second quarter of 2024 from RM16.2 billion in the January-to-March period, central bank and government data showed on Friday.

Portfolio investment saw a net outflow of RM21.7 billion in the April-to-June period, compared to a net outflow of 23.7 billion ringgit in the previous quarter. ($1 = 4.4430 ringgit)
