Sime Darby Auto Performance Sdn Bhd, the authorised distributor and seller of Porsche vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the third generation Porsche Cayenne with a starting price of RM745,000.
The new Cayenne was introduced in two variants — Cayenne and Cayenne S.
The Cayenne is powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged engine that delivers 340hp and 450Nm of torque. As for the Cayenne S, it is running on a 2.9-litre V6 twin-turbocharged engine that produces 440hp and 550Nm of torque. Both variants are paired with the new eight-speed Tiptronic S gearbox.
Porsche claims that the Cayenne can accelerates from zero to 100kph in 6.2 seconds (5.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package), while the Cayenne S can complete the century sprint in 5.2 seconds (4.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package). The top speed is rated at 245kph for the Cayenne and 265kph for Cayenne S.
Measuring at 4,918mm in length, 1,983mm in width, 1,696mm in height and with a wheelbase of 2,895mm, it weighs 2,040kg and has a 85-litre fuel tank capacity, as well as 770 litres of boot space.
It is equipped with mixed tyres, rear-axle steering, Porsche 4D Chassis Control, three-chamber air suspension, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control electronic roll stabilisation system, Porsche Traction Management, LED taillights with glass effect lighting strip with 3D Porsche logo, LED headlights, Porsche Advance Cockpit display, leather upholstery, 12-inch Full HD touchscreen, Porsche Communication Management infotainment system, touch sensitive controls and an analogue tachometer instrument cluster accompanied by two seven-inch display.
Porsche offers optional upgrades for the Cayenne and Cayenne S. It includes wheel sizes of up to 21 inches and Porsche Surface Coated Brake with tungsten-carbide layer, among others.
The retail base price with zero-rated GST for the new Porsche Cayenne and Cayenne S starts from RM745,000 and RM890,000, respectively. Prices stated includes all applicable duties, except registration fee, road tax and insurance. It is covered by a four-year warranty and free maintenance package that includes complimentary service, parts and labour.
