#NSTviral: Parking dispute escalates-Woman attacks customer with bamboo stick [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Police are investigating a case of public disturbance and criminal intimidation following an altercation at a petrol station in Hillpark Saujana Utama on Thursday.

Sungai Buloh district police chief Superintendent Mohd Hafiz Muhammad Nor said that the incident occurred at 7.50pm.

A 24-year-old petrol station supervisor said that a local woman had parked her vehicle in a way that blocked another car from exiting.

"The confrontation escalated when a customer asked the woman to move her car, and she reacted aggressively," he said.

"The woman attempted to assault the customer with a bamboo stick but was restrained by bystanders."

In response, police have initiated an investigation under Section 506 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation, which can result in a penalty of up to seven years in prison, a fine, or both, upon conviction.

The case is also being investigated under Section 14 of the Minor Offences Act 1955, which addresses the use of insulting or threatening language that disrupts public peace, punishable by a fine of up to RM100.

The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the investigating officer, Inspector Aruneswaari Arumugam, at 012-6972996.
