HOLDING the Huawei Nova 2 Lite in your hands is like holding a piece of paper; it is very light, weighing a mere 155g. For me, this is among the many great features of this mid-range smartphone.
The most reliable part of the Nova 2 Lite is its long battery life. Its 3,000 mAh large battery can last a day in full use and up to 20 days on standby time.
CAMERA FEATURES
The phone features a 13MP and a 2MP dual-camera setup with wide aperture capability. There are seven aperture settings to control bokeh simulation or to refocus the subjects after capturing them.
All these result in beautiful and professional-looking photos.
Selfie fans will be thrilled as there is an 8-megapixel front camera that comes with wide angle and large aperture features, as well as an intelligent selfie toning flash.
However, I find that the photos look better after using the in-built editing tools.
The best part of the phone is its 5.99-inch HD display. It gives clear and crisp images as well as video quality. There is the added blue mirror effect that offers a satisfying viewing experience.
Additionally, users will also be able to screenshot moments using a simple three-finger gesture and utilise the phone’s split-screen feature to view two applications simultaneously.
Another familiar feature is the face
recognition interface, just like the one on the Apple iPhone, that enables you to unlock your device just by glancing at it.
The Huawei Nova 2 Lite runs on Android 8.0 with the EMUI 8.0 for a smoother and faster interface.
The phone has three card slots for dual sim card usage. Although it only has a 32GB built-in storage, the microSD slot provides optional storage of up to 256GB.
In short, the Huawei Nova 2 Lite is easy to use and carries all the features of its predecessors. There is a faster and seamless feel to it, especially in capturing and editing photos. The low price tag of RM799 is very attractive.
Verdict: 3.5/5
