#TECH: Fujifilm releases new mirrorless camera

FUJIFILM Malaysia has unveiled the latest addition to its X Series of mirrorless digital cameras with the launch X-T5.

The camera features a back-illuminated 40.2MP sensor X-Trans CMOS 5 sensor in a more compact body (557 grams), which the company says

smaller and lighter than the previous model.

Besides that, the camera features a 5-axis in-body image stabilisation of up to 7.0 stops for better image quality.

Performance enhancement achieved in the X-T5 include improved image quality, ISO125 as a standard sensitivity, the fastest shutter speed of 1/180000 sec and the use of Pixel Shift Multi-Shot to expand photographic variations.

Other features include the Smooth Skin Effect, Subject Detection AF capable of detecting animals and birds, and AI-based high-precision auto white balance, assisting users in producing high quality photographic images.

The camera inherits X-T Series' signature Centre Viewfinder style and dial operation design.

Its 1.84-million-dot three-way tilting LCD screen is a new addition, making it more comfortable than ever before to shoot in vertical position or at waist level.

Fijifilm said the X-T5 is a perfect camera to cover a wide variety of photographic genres from street/documentary photography, in which its mobility is a major asset, to landscape photography and portraiture, which demands superior image quality. Other features that add comfort to users' photo experiences include the ability to record 10-bit 4:2:2 video at 6.2K/30P, the viewfinder magnification of 0.8x, 3.69-million-dot EVF and dual SD-card slots.

The camera is priced at RM8,648 (body only) and RM10,688 (with XF 18-55mm kit lens).
