PIXLR Group, an AI-driven creative tools provider, has collaborated with the Education Ministry to empower teachers with free artificial intelligence (AI) skills.
Pixlr said this AI initiative aims to make a significant impact, with targets including training 500 teachers to be AI Educator-certified, offering RM1 million worth of training and access to tools, and hosting the Pixlr AI Awards 2024, an AI design competition to encourage widespread student engagement and innovation.
Additionally, the initiative seeks to initiate AI programmes in schools by leveraging the Digital Educational Learning Initiative Malaysia (Delima) platform, equipping teachers to lead AI projects within their institutions.
"AI is not just the future; it is the present. Our collaboration with the Ministry of Education is a step towards equipping our teachers with the necessary skills to harness AI's power in education and preparing the future generation's readiness in adopting new technology as AI evolves," said Pixlr chief executive officer, Warren Leow.
Besides that, Pixlr also announced its feature at Google I/O 2024 as one of the 18 web apps globally supporting Progressive Web Apps (PWAs).
Meanwhile, MDEC CEO Ts Mahathir Aziz, said, "MDEC would like to congratulate Pixlr for their collaboration with the Ministry of Education, to equip our teachers and students with crucial AI knowledge and skills.
