DESPITE the popularity of smartphones as the go-to tool for taking photos, real cameras are increasing getting more attention, especially among professionals and hobbyists.
Looking at this encouraging trend, Fujifilm has launched its new X series shooters - the X-T50 and, and the GFX series - the GFX100S II.
Commenting on the new cameras, Fujifilm Malaysia managing director, Kensuke Aragane, said the X-T50 is a compact and lightweight body weighing approximately 438 grams.
The camera features a back-illuminated 40.2 megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor, a high-speed image processing engine X-Processor 5, and a 5-axis, up to 7.0-stop in-body image stabilisation function.
This time, Fujifilm has updated the kit lens to a new Fujinon XF16-50mm F2.8-4.8 R LM WR.
"In addition, for the first time, Film Simulation dial is incorporated on the top plate allowing a user to easily switch between 'Film Simulations', a key feature unique to the company that enables a wide variety of colour tones," he added.
The X-T50 body is priced at RM7,998, and RM9,998 for X-T50/XF16-50mm kit.
Meanwhile, the GFX100S II is equipped with a large format sensor, approximately 1.7 times larger than a 35mm full-frame sensor.
The camera features a 102MP high-speed sensor with the X-Processor 5. It offers fast AF and improved continuous shooting speed of up to 7.0 frames per second, it can accurately capture moving subjects like never before. The in-body image stabilization function has also been enhanced, achieving a maximum of eight-stop, five-axis performance.
"The GFX100S II offers rich tonal expression and three-dimensional rendering capabilities, made possible by the unique characteristics of the large format sensor, but it also features AI-based subject detection, greatly evolving from its predecessor," he said.
The GFX100S II is priced at RM26,888 (body).
