Bata Malaysia plants trees with children

Bata Malaysia joined the Sponsor A Tree programme by BRDB Rotary Children's Residence (BRCR) where 66 children from the home planted trees and learned about gardening. The event was held at the home in Seri Kembangan.

Bata Malaysia country manager Vaibhav Manrao says the brand wants to make life's journeys better for all by offering high quality, comfortable and stylish footwear, as well as making a positive impact in the communities where it operates.

"Children are the future of our nation, and we believe that every child should be provided with opportunities to help them achieve their full potential,"

"With Sponsor A Tree, we hope we can continue to empower underprivileged children to nurture their skills, talents and well-being. Together, we give them hope for a brighter future and a better livelihood," Manrao says.

Accompanied by BRCR exco chairman Datuk Chan Kam Fatt and Universiti Putra Malaysia agriculture officer Zaidi Tajuddin, the children had the opportunity to learn and explore gardening.

The tree-planting programme is aimed to raise funds for the children's education and wellbeing and to provide valuable skills and experience for the children.

Bata Malaysia sponsored the saplings and shoes for the children worth RM10,000. They include five Musang King durian trees, gardening tools, 66 pairs of sandals as well as stationery and toiletries.

This is part of Bata's Children Programme, a global initiative to give back to the community by providing shoes and other contribution to the underprivileged children within the nation.
