PLAYING a supporting role in Kau Takdirku, budding actress Megan Tan had to endure the cold waters of Langkawi, Kedah, for a diving scene in the romantic drama.
“It was the most challenging scene for me.
“It was shot in the evening and the water was so cold that I was shivering all the way.
“Fortunately, by the time the scene was over, it became a lot warmer,” said the 29-year-old artiste who viewed her experience on the film as quite the adventure.
In the 100-minute film produced by Grand Brilliance, Tan plays Mimi, one of two best pals of the heroine Alia, played by Ezzaty Abdullah.
“Mimi is flirty, playful, talkative and daring.
“I too am sociable but I’m not that extrovert as her,” quipped the former host for 8TV Quickie and Go Travel, when met during a photoshoot at Kaio photography studio in Shah Alam, Selangor, recently.
Tan could recall the experience even though it was filmed four years ago.
Kau Takdirku, directed by Jason Chong (who helmed Adiwiraku), is headlined by A-listers, Bront Palarae and Remy Ishak.
Tan finds the love story interesting because of its plot developments, differentiating it from the usual love story.
“Not to mention, the splendid cinematography in Langkawi and Tioman, Pahang,” said the Penang-born, who has acted in several telemovies, including Sakura and Semangat Kuda.
And it was in Semangat Kuda that she first met Jason, who later cast her in Kau Takdirku.
Tan, who recently wed photographer Jon Teo, is busy managing her online portal.
Called megsmesh.com, it is a women’s lifestyle website which she formed with her elder sister, Lyn Tan, six months ago.
Describing megsmesh.com as a portal to uplift women, Tan said: “Our website covers many topics ranging from fashion, travel, food, books, beauty products, to useful tips.
“Lyn and I provide most of the input here, but we’ve also got a few close pals who contribute by sharing their interests and stories on the website.”
