KUALA LUMPUR: KL City's season has taken a downturn.
The team dropped from third to 11th place in the Super League standings following a six-point deduction.
On Saturday, KL City lost 2-0 to Terengganu at KLFA Stadium.
The First Instance Body (FIB) imposed the six-point penalty and a fine of RM100,000 against KL City on Aug 5 due to discrepancies and false declarations in their club license application.
It is a tough situation for Miroslav Kuljanac's squad, which had been performing well despite salary issues.
Kuljanac said his players must remain resilient.
"I've told the players that we can't change the penalty; we have to accept it. It's undeniably tough," said Kuljanac.
"It's hard to believe that one day you're in third place and the next you're in 11th. Accepting this drop is not easy.
"However, we have a match on Friday. We must focus, work hard, and aim for a win. Giving up is not an option," he added.
