ONLY a few Malaysian artistes have been given the honour of holding a solo concert at the renowned Esplanade Concert Hall in Singapore.
The lucky ones include rock queen Ella, United States-based singer-songwriter Yuna and rock star Amy Search.
Soon, award-winning vocal powerhouse Dayang Nurfaizah will be added to the list, as she prepares to thrill music fans in her first-ever solo concert in the island republic, on Jan 1 at 8pm.
“I’m over the moon because this opportunity is hard to come by,” the Sarawakian singer told the New Straits Times yesterday.
“I have only performed in Singapore for corporate shows and television programmes.
“I’ve never held an actual
concert there, so I see this as a huge step in my career.”
Organised by Esplanade-Theatres on the Bay, the 90-minute concert will see the sultry-voiced vocalist backed by a band of musicians under the direction of Malaysia’s renowned music director, Jenny Chin.
“I’ll be performing all my hits from my 1999 debut album right to my recently-released self-titled record,” said Dayang.
Expect to hear her chart-toppers, such as Seandainya Masih Ada Cinta, Lelaki Teragung and Langit Cinta, as well as her latest single, Separuh Mati Ku Bercinta.
The overall winner of the recent Anugerah Juara Lagu 31 added that her music repertoire would include songs, which boasts new music arrangements.
“This is my gift to my fans, and I want to make this experience special just for this Esplanade concert,” said Dayang.
Tickets to the concert are priced from S$25 (RM79) to S$65.
Fans can also opt for the meet-and-greet pass priced at S$85 (which includes a S$65 ticket and an autographed poster).
Tickets are available at www.esplanade.com/dayang, the Esplanade Box Office or authorised SISTIC agents. Alternatively, call the SISTIC hotline at +65 6348 5555.
