(Showbiz) Mixed reactions to Vida's RM1 mil official music video

KUALA LUMPUR: The recently-released official music video of I Am Me on YouTube has received all kinds of reactions from viewers.

The video of the debut single by Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman or more fondly known as Datuk Seri Vida, has since received more than 350,000 views. While 8,000 viewers liked the video, 1,000 gave their thumbs down.

Some Netizens commented that the quality of the video was not worth the money spent by the cosmetics tycoon.

Helmed by well-known director Ghaz Abu Bakar, it cost a whopping RM1 million in total.

Among the comments were: “Maaf la Dato. Saya kecewa Dato Gebang2 kata video dato nak lawan Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. Hakikatnya video Dato ni sangat sedihhhhh. Siapa camera man video ni? Sedihhhnya shoot MV ni… zoom melampau2. Orang kalau dah modal video 1 juta…buatlah ada shoot pakai Drone ke…buatlah canggih2 sikit. ini macam style 80 an jer gayanya. Saya rasa yang mahal dalam video ni props jer… content video dengan teknik2 kecanggihan yang di harapkan amatlah……..menyedihkan. Kesian Dato pun tak pandai cari pengarah……membazir jer sejuta tu….“

(I’m sorry Datuk, earlier you said that this video would be comparable to those released by Taylor Swift and Katy Perry. But in reality, this video is a disappointment. Who’s the cameraman for this video, his shots are too much. With RM1 m budget, at least you could use drones or a more advanced filming techniques. But this looked like it was shot in the 1980s. I think most of the budget only went to the props used. You had chosen the wrong director. What a waste of a million dollar.)

But her fans, well, they applauded her for her efforts.
