KUALA LUMPUR: The National Registration Department (JPN) said that all applications and printing of MyKad can only be done within Malaysia.
This applies to both first-time applications for 12-year-olds and the replacement of lost or damaged cards.
JPN said this in a statement to address a recent viral post circulating on TikTok regarding the printing of MyKad abroad.
The post claimed the existence of an illegal MyKad printing operation taking place in the Malaysian embassy in Beijing, China.
JPN urged the public to refrain from spreading false information and to verify the accuracy of any news they come across.
