(Showbiz) Unwell Zizan Razak halts Polis Evo 2 filming

KUALA LUMPUR: Even heroes need a break. Actor and comedian Zizan Razak has been under the weather for the past couple of weeks due to a hectic work schedule and lack of rest.

In a recent news report, the popular 33-year-old personality and TV host said that aside from the intense filming for the upcoming action film, Polis Evo 2, the heroic role that he reprises in the sequel also took a toll on his health.

“Taking on the role of a capable police officer required me to hit the gym to carry out additional workout routines and pump iron in order to build muscle mass and sculpt a brawny physique.”

“In addition to that, acting in an action film really requires extra stamina too,” he said.

Zizan added that this disruptive change in his lifestyle had messed up his generally less physically demanding schedule.

“So this eventually resulted in me being really sick for about two weeks,” he said at the launch event for the new talent management company Rocketfuel Entertainment.

Zizan explained that the shooting for Polis Evo 2 had to be halted for a while to enable him to rest and recuperate.

Despite the setback, Zizan added that he actually enjoyed the filming process, even though it was tiring, since everyone involved had put in an astounding amount of commitment.

The actor said that he hoped to be able to present a better portrayal of his role in the new Joel Soh-directed action comedy, which also stars Shaheizy Sam.

“The chemistry that Shaheizy Sam and I shared has made our work together much easier during the whole production.”

“And being nominated for Best Actor (for Polis Evo) at the Malaysia Film Festival (FFM28) last year has motivated me to work harder to further prove my credibility as an actor,” he said.
