KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and comedian, Zizan Razak revealed that he had previously received death threats from an individual who was jealous because his girlfriend was interested in the popular artiste.
In an Utusan Malaysia report today, Zizan said he just ignored the threats that were expressed on social media.
"I didn't make a police report because I think the individual involved just wanted to scare me.
"Sometimes I wonder why some people are so angry that they want to kill me when I just want to make people laugh.
"But it doesn't matter, maybe the jealous individual is in love, so he gets angry when his lover is interested in me," he said.
The 40-year-old star added that he is often a victim of cyberbullying, especially when serving as a judge in entertainment programmes.
However, Zizan chose to ignore the criticism and insults he received to take care of his mental health.
"Often, fans will feel dissatisfied because their favorite artistes are eliminated. So they will criticise the jury.
"I never take criticism on social media seriously. I don't let it affect me. If I do read the comments, it is just to improve yourself.
"My advice to victims of cyberbullying, if you can't stand the insults and criticism, avoid having a social media account. Or close the comment section," he said.
