KUALA LUMPUR: Comedian Zizan Razak’s third adventure as heroic gangster Abang Long Fadil will be made next year, and producer Datuk Yusof Haslam promises fans it will be “worthy of Hollywood”.
“Abang Long Fadil 3 will be a RM4 million film, and filming will begin after Hari Raya Aidilfitri next year,” said Yusof in a recent news report.
Yusof said Abang Long Fadil 3, which will once again be directed by his son Syafiq, will feature a star-studded cast, and filming will take longer, in order to produce a film of “Hollywood standards”.
“Abang Long Fadil 3 will have much more special effects and state-of-the-art technology. It’ll be an explosive adventure for Zizan, and hopefully, box-office collections will outdo Abang Long Fadil 2.”
Abang Long Fadil 2, which was released on Aug 24 and co-produced by Yusof’s company Skop Productions and Astro Shaw, collected RM18.1 million at the box office, overtaking Astro Shaw’s Polis Evo which collected RM17.74 million in 2015.
Another Skop film, Munafik, directed by Yusof’s son Syamsul and screened last year, had the third highest box office collection of RM17 million.
